Now that autumn has finally made it appearance in southeastern New England, I am trying to soak up every moment by taking afternoon/golden hour walks and taking lots of picture like a fool. I took this one this afternoon:
In terms of music I’ve been enjoying lately, I’ve been listening to Tyson Motsenbocker’s 2020 album Someday I’ll Make It All Up To You a bit. It feels very end of summer/autumn to me.
I’ve also discovered the wonders of Nordic lo-fi chillhop.
Finally, in music land I’ve also been enjoying A Broken Consort’s moody instrumental album Box of Birch on vinyl.
I’ve been reading from Mary Oliver’s collection Devotions in the mornings lately. If you need one collection of her work, this is it.
Because it’s spoopy season, I’ve been reading children’s and YA spooky books including The Bone Houses, The Clackity, The Monsters of Rookhaven, and The Shadows of Rookhaven. I’m planning to also read Ravenfall and The Halloween Moon
My wife and I started rewatching The Lord of the Rings extended editions recently, and it’s been delightful to revisit the films after a long time.
Finally, we discovered the delightful short animated series Over the Garden Wall last year, and we just watched it again recently. The perfect autumn mood setter.
