About Me

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." - John Keats, “Ode on a Grecian Urn”

Hey, I’m Chris. By day I’m an English professor, and during the nights, weekends, holidays, summer breaks, etc, I’m a poet, nature explorer, book reader, and hopefully decent husband, dog dad, and friend. Sometimes I think I’m a mystic who just wants to live in a cabin in the woods, but then I remember I’m past 40 and I love my comfy bed too much.

As a literature professor, writer, and a person of faith, I often find myself standing at the crossroads of spirituality, storytelling, and creativity. That’s what I hope to explore in my writings here on Substack.
