About Me

Hey, I’m Chris. By day I’m an English professor, and during the nights, weekends, holidays, summer breaks, etc, I’m a poet, nature lover, book reader, and hopefully decent husband, dog dad, and friend. I’m kind of a mystic who sometimes just wants to live in a rustic cabin in the woods, but then I remember I’m past 40 and I love my creature comforts too much.

In the fine tradition of luminaries like Henry David Thoreau and Mary Oliver, my passion has become the sacred vocation of sauntering: to wander, to stop and notice, and to sometimes pause at a crossroads and muse. I’ve spent the past twenty years rambling through philosophy, spirituality, pop culture, and literature, and so the essays and poems you’ll find here are bits and bobs I’ve gleaned along the way.

I hold bachelors degrees in philosophy and English, a masters in English, and I’m currently working on a Masters in Spirituality via Merrimack College.

I currently write and share this Substack for free, but if you enjoy what you’re reading and would like to drop me a tip, I’d sure be grateful:
